After 4hrs of train journey from Prague, I arrived at Wien Sudbahnhof.
As usual, the first thing to do was to look for the hostel that I've reserved earlier
but it's situated quite a distant from the city center as well as those main attractions
Kunsthistorisches Museum - the Museum of Fine Arts
face to face, there is Naturhistorisches Museum - the Natural History Museum
at the junction of both is Museumsquartier ie museum museum museum
I skipped all the museums throughout my entire Europe trip, the reason is obvious, I'm not artistic at all. Honestly I do not know how to appreciate arts so no point wasting time and money.
The Austrian Parliament
Burgtheater - the Austrian National Theater
Rathaus - the city hall
It was Film Festival on that day...
free films were shown on the giant screen in Rathausplatz at night
the Votivkirche church
Hofburg Imperial Palace
back on the street
Stephansdom aka St Stephen's Cathedral
Albertina - another museum
Staatsoper - the Vienna State Opera
I love the sun, but I like the moon as well
Dinner - Austrian's well-known Wiener Schnitzel ie deep fried pork in breadcrumbs
Meininger Hotel - nice and comfortable
I was in the same room with 2 girls from Germany, one whom doesn't speak English, so we didn't talk much.
Next station: Bratislava Hlavna stanica
