Tourist office wasn't open yet when I arrived at Santa Apolonia 8 o'clock in the morning. And unfortunately, the street where the hostel situated is not even on the simple map I had in my guidebook.
But no worries, still early. I took my time in Brown's cafe...
had a cup of latte, a tart and a muffin.
Don't you just love free wifi?? Laptop, google map, uh huh! and I found the hostel. Bravo!
The Smile Hostel, so far the best hostel I've ever stayed.
It's really homely - comfortable and warm. And the breakfast was awesomeeee!
Lisbon old tram - beware of pickpockets!
Sé de Lisboa - the Lisbon cathedral
the city is.... very hilly
Castelo de São Jorge - Don't you just love being a student? I've got student discount on entrance fees €2.50

Basílica da Estrela
Portuguese love Hello Kitty I supposed.
Wandering in Bairro Alto the old district
Portuguese usually have late dinner. That is why their restaurants do not open until 7pm. I was starved to death.
Finally... Portuguese famous dishes - Bacalhau ie dried salted cod fish with sauce, served with potatoes. In Portugal, bread olives butter or cheese are often brought to your table unordered, so you'll have to reject them if you do not want to pay for the extra charges.
Day 2 - as I said, I had a great breakfast. And a great breakfast made my day.
walked around the Baixa area
Praça do Comércio
From the rail station, I took the bus to Belém district, which is quite far away, mainly because I was attracted to the sea. I didn't know why, but the bus service was free of charge! I really have no idea why. Was it only that day? Was it only Bus No.28? or was it only me? Highly unlikely LOL
Mosteiro dos Jerónimos
from here you can see Ponte 25 de Abril aka the '25th of April Bridge'
Padrão dos Descobrimentos - the monument
What can be more enjoyable than sitting under the sun?
Don't you just loooove the sunshine and blue sky?

Back at the city center downtown

Santa Justa historic elevator
Don't you just loooooooooove portuguese egg tarts!??? it's a MUST TRY!
