The hostel I was staying is not even on the map, luckily it is reachable by metro.
Arriving in Rome at late evening, the first thing to do after checking in was to cari makan.
Took the metro back to somewhere around Roma Termini yet I had a not-so-satisfying 3 course meal.
some tomatoes+olive oil on bread
slightly overbaked lasagna
roast chicken with aubergine
fruit salad
The next morning, I bought another BIG ticket, ie 24hr public transport ticket.
My breakfast
First place to go: the Vatican City - a State within a State
It was so unbelievable that few months ago, I saw this place from Angel and Demons, and I've already been there now.
St. Peter's Basilica
Piazza San Pietro
Entry restrictions: no shorts, no singlet, no slippers, no camera inside the building
Castel Sant'Angelo
Italians like Smart cars, a lot.
Trinità dei Monti
the Spanish Steps
I'm sure you know this. Everyone saw this from 沖上雲霄, didn't you?
.
Fontana di Trevi
the Pantheon
Piazza Navona
Campo de' Fiori
stall selling handmade pasta and spaghetti
Lunch: traditional extremely yummy pizza
Fruits were very important throughout my whole trip
Bananas from the market
Monumento Vittorio Emanuele II
Piazza del Campidoglio on Capitoline Hill
Roman Forum
the Arch of Constantine
and the most anticipated Colosseum
However I didn't go in, reasons: long queue+overcrowded in there+I have no one to take picture for me anyway+I'll be back
I'm pretty expert in taking metro in Rome now
though there was no air cond and extremely crowded in the metro
Piazza dell'Esquilino
Apart from pizza and lasagna, gelato is definitely one of the must-try in Italy, especially in hot hot summer.
McD's cappuccino milk shake before departure. That was the day I coughed so badly.
Next station: Geneve Gare de Cornavin
