0916 - Paris

Paris, France - the not so-romantic-for-me city.
This is a dream place for many girls. I don't understand. Some of my friends even specified that they will only enjoy the romance of Paris with their another half. Well, I was there. No half, one whole me.

It is impossible to explore Paris in one day, I knew that. But I'm pretty sure that I'll be there again, so I decided just to be a passer-by.

It was raining heavily by the time I arrived (another reason I didn't want to stay any longer). However, it took me 45 mins bus journey to get to the hostel. So the rain has already stopped when I started to go around.

Paris is big. I did buy a day-ticket for public transportation. Save time but didn't save my money.

Opéra Garnier aka Paris Opera

Palais-Royal

Palais du Louvre

Louvre Pyramid - Overcrowded so I didn't even bother to go near it.

Centre Pompidou - a weird looking building

Snack: Crêpe sucrée ie crepe with sugar

Palais de Justice - the courts

Notre Dame de Paris

Panthéon in Paris

Palais du Luxembourg in Jardin du Luxembourg

Grand Palais

Invalides

You should know this.

Eiffel tower, in case you don't.

East pillar - empty

South pillar - empty

North pillar - long queue

West pillar - closed

I did go up to the tower, obviously. The reason is obvious too. Looking at all the pictures taken, what do you expect to see from above the tower in such a bad weather?

Arc de Triomphe - monument in the center of very busy roundabout

Sacré-Cœur Basilica

Dinner: bacon panini

The most enjoyable night - as I occupied the room all by myself

I experienced a one-day-in-Paris, veritably.
Not very keen on Paris. I'm not a romantic after all.

Next station: Bordeaux Gare St-Jean
