0914 - Amsterdam

The sin city - Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
In this city, uncommon becomes common, wrong seems to be right, illegal turns to be legal. People love this place, so do I. It is really an eye-opener.

Again, I arrived late at night. But late night in Amsterdam is never late.

The hostel was easily found but I can tell that it is the worst hostel throughout the entire trip. What's worse is that I was in a 20 beds dorm. Hostels in Amsterdam usually come along with pubs or bars. This was empty because the picture was taken at 8 in the morning.

Looking at the city map, Amsterdam actually looks like a spider web. And I had a feeling that it is more Venice than Venice.

the De Gooyer Windmill

Vending machines for food! All served hot!

There is a pulley on top of each building, for the purpose of lifting furniture and stuff to the upper floors from outside.

the De Otter windmill

Westerkerk - the Western Church

Striving against the gravity...

Bloemenmarkt - the so called floating flower market in the Singel

where you can basically get all kinds of tulip

Muziektheater

flea market

afternoon tea - Stroopwafels (syrup waffles) and coffee

You do not go the Coffeeshops for coffee. People go there for marijuana.

In Amsterdam, drugs can be bought everywhere, souvenir shops or gift shops and particularly the 'Smart' shops. Wherever you see wordings such as magic mushroom, weeds, seeds, energizers, herbal, vitamins, you know what's in there.

*candid pictures* - different kinds of pipes, joint, hash and pot available

It's okay if you don't smoke. They have cannabis lollipop, cannabis candies, sweets, cookies, chocolate, mushroom tea, mushroom coffee... everything you like to eat, with cannabis or mushroom or weeds... and everything is not expensive. Wanna get high? Easy.
The temptation was there. Honestly, I was just few steps away from the counter. After consideration, nope, not there yet.

Redlight district during the day. This area is best explored at night, or else you'll see nothing but tourists.

the China street i guess

Sint Nicolaaskerk - the Church of St. Nicholas

National Monument at the Dam Square

Dam Square

Checked-in to another hostel, which was much much better.

Dinner: the so-called Argentina steak, even though I didn't know how Argentina it was.

Back at the Red-light district at late evening, actually my hostel was just right behind it.

Behind each glass door, there is a small room with a bed and basin where special services are being offered. Usually you will see hot chicks in undies posing and soliciting through the transparent doors, but when the red curtain is closed as picture above, it means there is business going on inside.

It turns you on by just walking through the street as most of them are really hot. Take note, I said most of them. There is one place where I passed by, 'workers' in the windows are all in XXL size. I didn't mean to judge, well, different people have different tastes and needs. But I just couldn't hold my laughter. *candid**candid**candid*

Apart from red-light services, there are also a number of sex shops, love shops, sex cinemas or theaters, peep shows, bars and clubs... everything seems to be okay in this sex and drugs city.

Back at the hostel bar. I did take another form of drugs - alcohol.

my favourite Rum coke

Early next morning, the buffet breakfast provided by the hostel was nice.
