There are many events going on for the following days such as different kind of performances, cny dinner but today is the main celebration day.
CNY celebration in Liverpool is very special, interesting and entertaining. I'll tell u.
Feature #1
One of the event is called The 2nd Merseyside Mahjong Tournament.
First Prize: One return flight ticket to China / HK; Second Prize: £200; Third Prize: £100; and Fourth Prize: £50
Sounds like what we've seen in 呖咕呖咕新年财! and I think anyone in my family qualified for that.
Most of the events are held in Chinatown and the roads were closed from vehicles. The street parade and firecracker display started at 1130. It was so crowded. We had not only yellow-skinned, but also white, dark and black.
Feature #2: Lion and dragon dance
They were all performed by guai lou!
Can you see who was leading the dragon by holding the 'pearl' at the front??
Feature # 3: Fire cracker display
Safety first!
Went for brunch with my friends in western restaurant. Chinese restaurants were all full, with guai lou.
Feature #4: St. George's church
CNY celebration in a church!
We were given a red string to tie it on the plants and make a wish.

and I had the most special CNY reunion dinner ever!
Instead of chinese food, I had my dinner in an Italian restaurant.
Traditional pizza and pasta! Very nice though.
